Numerical experiments based on POM are carried out to study the forming mechanism of this thermal structure and its relation to the Yellow Sea Warm Current (YSWC).

It is shown from the analysis of formation mechanism that the pressure gradient force, vertically frictional force and Coriolis force play the leading roles in forming the YSWC.
