In the present paper, electrical resistivity tomography was used to detect the west branch of Xiaojiang fault in lake sedimentary Tonghai basin.

The results show that the strongest different movement of the crust happened in Yongsheng, Eryuan, Xiaguan and Nanjian in West Yunnan, and the next is in the Tonghai and Jianshui area.
