海狸先生说，“你没有听见海狸太太说的话吗？”
“他想要出卖他们，投靠白女巫，伟大的阿斯兰。”海狸先生说。
"He has tried to betray them and joined the White Witch, o Aslan," said Mr Beaver.
“这是海狸遇难时一个老的藏身处，”海狸先生说，“是一大秘密。”
"It's an old hiding-place for beavers in bad times," said Mr Beaver, "and a great secret."
海狸先生：我不知道……我要在报纸上登一封感谢信，我会这么做的。
Mr. BEAVER: I don't know... I'll write a thank-you letter in the newspaper, that's what I'll do.
他们就在河上堤坝顶上那座小房子里——跟海狸先生、海狸太太在一起。
They're in the little house on top of the dam just up the river with Mr And Mrs Beaver.
不过没等他们好好享用多久，海狸先生就说，“现在是行动的时候了。”
But long before they had finished enjoying themselves Mr Beaver said, "Time to be moving on now."
“不必找他的理由是，”海狸先生说，“我们已经知道他到哪儿去了！”
"The reason there's no use looking," said Mr Beaver, "is that we know already where he's gone!"
海狸先生非常忧郁地摇了摇头说：“恐怕他们把他带到她的宫殿去了。”
Mr Beaver shook his head in a very gloomy fashion. "I'm afraid it means they were taking him to her House," he said.
土豆煮在锅里，水壶已经响了，海狸先生，我敢说你还会给我们搞来些鲜鱼哩。
The potatoes are on boiling and the kettle's singing and I daresay, Mr Beaver, you'll get us some fish.

"Get along with you all," said his wife. "Think it over, Mr Beaver. She can't be here for quarter of an hour at least."
后来他一直听到海狸先生告诉他们有关阿斯兰的事，还听到在石桌跟阿斯兰见面的整个安排。
And then he had listened until Mr Beaver told them about Aslan and until he had heard the whole arrangement for meeting Aslan at the Stone Table.
海狸先生带他们穿过堤坝，走到河的右岸，然后走到河岸下面树丛里一条崎岖不平的小路上。
Mr Beaver led them across the dam and on to the right bank of the river and then along a very rough sort of path among the trees right down by the river-bank.
他们排成单行走着——海狸先生走在头里，随后是露茜，再后是彼得、苏珊，海狸太太走在末尾。
They went in single file - first Mr Beaver, then Lucy, then Peter, then Susan, and Mrs Beaver last of all.

"Do?" said Mr Beaver, who was already putting on his snow-boots, "do? We must be off at once. We haven't a moment to spare! "

Just as the frying-pan was nicely hissing Peter and Mr Beaver came in with the fish which Mr Beaver had already opened with his knife and cleaned out in the open air.

"Worse and worse," said Mr Beaver, "and the next thing is this." Was he still here when I told you that the place for meeting Aslan was the Stone Table?

"I'll show you," said Mr Beaver. "it's down the river, a good step from here. I'll take you to it!"

"Then mark my words," said Mr Beaver, "he has already met the White Witch and joined her side, and been told where she lives."

"Here we are, Mrs Beaver," said Mr Beaver, "I've found them. Here are the Sons and Daughters of Adam and Eve - and they all went in."
于是他们走下陡峭的山坡，回到洞里，海狸先生切了点面包和火腿，做成夹肉面包，海狸太太斟茶，大家吃得津津有味。
So down the steep bank they went and back to the cave, and Mr Beaver cut some of the bread and ham into sandwiches and Mrs Beaver poured out the tea and everyone enjoyed themselves.
“说得对，亚当的儿子，”海狸先生说，他用脚爪猛地拍了一下桌子，震得满桌的杯子和碟子都叮当直响，“而且你们就要见到他了。”
"That's right, Son of Adam," said Mr Beaver, bringing his paw down on the table with a crash that made all the cups and saucers rattle.
圣诞老人说，“至于你，海狸先生，等你回到家，就会看到你的堤坝完工了，修好了，所有裂缝都不漏了，还配上了一道新的水闸门。”
And as for you, Mr Beaver, when you get home you will find your dam finished and mended and all the leaks stopped and a new sluicegate fitted.
就这样他们才终于出了门，海狸先生锁上门。(“这会耽误她一点时间。”他说。)他们就此出发了，大家都把自己的一份行李扛在肩上。
And so at last they all got outside and Mr Beaver locked the door (" it'll delay her a bit, "he said) and they set off, all carrying their loads over their shoulders.
“我不是告诉过你们吗？”海狸先生回答说，“她把这儿变得一年到头都是冬天，而且从来不过圣诞节。我不是告诉过你们吗？好吧，你们来看哪！”
"Didn't I tell you," answered Mr Beaver, "that she'd made it always winter and never Christmas? Didn't I tell you? Well, just come and see!"
