基甸见他是耶和华的使者，就说:"哀哉。
When Gideon realized that it was the angel of the LORD, he exclaimed, "Ah, Sovereign LORD!
基甸说：“主阿，我有何能拯救以色列人呢？”
基甸以此制造了一个以弗得，设立在本城俄弗拉。
Gideon made the gold into an ephod, which he placed in Ophrah, his town.
他们访查之后，就说，这是约阿施的儿子基甸作的。
And when they enquired and asked, they said, Gideon the son of Joash hath done this thing.
基甸问西巴和撒慕拿说，你们在他泊山所杀的人是什么样式。
Then said he unto Zebah and Zalmunna, What manner of men were they whom ye slew at Tabor?
也不照着耶路巴力，就是基甸向他们所施的恩惠厚待他的家。
Neither shewed they kindness to the house of Jerubbaal, namely, Gideon, according to all the goodness which he had shewed unto Israel.
基甸和跟随他的三百人到约旦河过渡，虽然疲乏，还是追赶。
Gideon and his three hundred men, exhausted yet keeping up the pursuit, came to the Jordan and crossed it.
也不照着耶路巴力，就是基甸向他们所施的恩惠，厚待他的家。
They also failed to show kindness to the family of Jerub-Baal (that is, Gideon) for all the good things he had done for them.

Then he asked Zebah and Zalmunna, "What kind of men did you kill at Tabor?

So Gideon stepped forward and killed them, and took the ornaments off their camels' necks.

And Gideon said unto him, Oh my LORD, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us?

And Gideon arose, and slew Zebah and Zalmunna, and took away the ornaments that were on their camels' necks.
又追赶米甸人，将俄立和西伊伯的首级带过约旦河，到基甸那里。
They pursued the Midianites and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon, who was by the Jordan.
神的使者吩咐基甸说，将肉和无酵饼放在这磐石上，把汤倒出来。
And the angel of God said unto him, Take the flesh and the unleavened cakes, and lay them upon this rock, and pour out the broth.
那同伴说：“这不是别的，乃是以色列人约阿施的儿子基甸的刀。”
His friend responded, "This can be nothing other than the sword of Gideon son of Joash, the Israelite."
他的妾住在示剑，也给他生了一个儿子。基甸与他起名叫亚比·米勒。
His concubine, who lived in Shechem, also bore him a son, whom he named Abimelech.
基甸又对他们说，我有一件事求你们，请你们各人将所夺的耳环给我。
And Gideon said unto them, I would desire a request of you, that ye would give me every man the earrings of his prey.
耶和华的使者向基甸显现，对他说，大能的勇士阿，耶和华与你同在。
And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, the LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.
神的使者吩咐基甸说：“将肉和无酵饼放在这磐石上，把汤倒出来。”
The angel of God said to him, "Take the meat and the unleavened bread, place them on this rock, and pour out the broth."
基甸说，我不管理你们，我的儿子也不管理你们，惟有耶和华管理你们。
And Gideon said unto them, I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you: the LORD shall rule over you.
于是基甸将三百人分作三队，把角和空瓶交在各人手里，瓶内都藏着火把。
Dividing the three hundred men into three companies, he placed trumpets and empty jars in the hands of all of them, with torches inside.
基甸听见这梦和梦的讲解，就敬拜神，回到以色列营中，说:"起来吧。
When Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he worshiped God. He returned to the camp of Israel and called out, "Get up!
耶和华的使者向基甸显现，对他说：“大能的勇士阿，耶和华与你同在。”
When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, "the LORD is with you, mighty warrior."
基甸又对他们说：“我有一件事求你们，请你们各人将所夺的耳环给我。”
And he said, "I do have one request, that each of you give me an earring from your share of the plunder."
基甸又对神说：“求你不要向我发怒，我再说这一次，让我将羊毛再试一次。”
Then Gideon said to God, "Do not be angry with me." Let me make just one more request.
西巴和撒慕拿逃跑。基甸追赶他们，捉住米甸的二王西巴和撒慕拿，惊散全军。
Zebah and Zalmunna, the two Kings of Midian, fled, but he pursued them and captured them, routing their entire army.
基甸又对神说：“求你不要向我发怒，我再说这一次，让我将羊毛再试一次。”
Then Gideon said to God, "Do not be angry with me." Let me make just one more request. Allow me one more test with the fleece.

And when Zebah and Zalmunna fled, he pursued after them, and took the two Kings of Midian, Zebah and Zalmunna, and discomfited all the host.
次日早晨基甸起来，见果然是这样。将羊毛挤一挤，从羊毛中拧出满盆的露水来。
And that is what happened. Gideon rose early the next day; he squeezed the fleece and wrung out the dew — a bowlful of water.
