On August 25th Sony unveiled a new, expensive electronic-book reader for the American market that will compete with Amazon's offerings.

Sony also cut the price of new book releases and best seller titles in its eBook Store to $9.99 and said it will work with local libraries throughout the US as they make the move to digital books.
