The Zune supports WMV only, no DivX, no XviD, no H.264 -- basically nothing we use.
So far I have been enjoying H.264, XviD, DivX and MPEG-2 HD clips.
However, the box does show promise with XviD and Ogg Vorbis support, something those WMCEs don't do easily.
The i2 plays MP3, OGG, WMA (unprotected too), AAC audio formats and DivX, Xvid, MPEG4, and VOB video formats on its 3.5-inch screen.
The most surprising thing is the fact that Apple's CODECs (both H.264 and MPEG2) drop more frames than the beta's for Xvid or Divx.
Currently getting 3rd party codecs like DivX and Xvid working within Windows Media Center has worked well enough with 3rd party solutions, but the next best thing is native support.

As for the video player we had to stick to MP4 format and nothing larger than the screen's resolution -- the standard iPod video settings worked like a charm (we had 900kbps and 30fps encoded by Xvid).
The Xvid CODEC works well but if I try to do anything else, such as open the stream information window while the clip is playing it causes the video to freeze and requires me to press pause then play again.
Audio purists will appreciate the device's new 5.1-channel sound enhancement technology and support for the MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC, AAC, M4A, WAV and MP3HD audio codecs, and video hounds will love being able to playback MPEG4, WMV, H.264, Xvid and Divx files.

Of course in addition to emulating that massive library of 8-bit goodness, the PMP will also handle MP3, OGG, FLAC, and WAV audio, as well as AVI, MPEG-4 SP, XviD, and DivX video, which you can view on the player's 2.5-inch QVGA screen.
Multi-codec support for DivX Xvid, MP4 and WMV, and support for virtual 5.1 surround sound delivery transforms the device into a personal entertainment system and HD video (720p) decoding and recording capabilities make the Samsung Wave an outstanding device for capturing, sharing and viewing video.

This may also be my files as I was not able to find any sample HD XviD files so I had to make my own and video encoding as never been my forte, anyone who has tried it knows it can be a dark art.
