There have been dark hints from people at Boeing that manufacturing work on the Sonic Cruiser, a high-speed airliner, will move out of the state unless traffic between Boeing's factories around Seattle gets unclogged.
The company has enough funding to meet its 2010 build-out goals but requires several billions more to continue work on its nationwide high-speed network.
Starting in 2006, Exelon rolled out 2, 300 ruggedized Panasonic laptops to its utility repairmen in an effort to automate work orders and speed up the time to fix electrical outages.
"The traffic lights can talk to cars, workout how long it's going to take to transit a road and then provide information back on what speed to travel to ensure that you pass through the traffic lights on green, " he said.
