In terms of supply, CLD recently won two federal coal leases with roughly 407 million tons of mineable coal (as estimated by the Bureau of Land Management) at a rate of about 85 cents per ton.
Other notable American newcomers include Do Won and Jin Sook Chang, the cofounders of Forever21, and Chris Cline, who owns 3 billion tons of coal reserves, mostly in Illinois.
