There's just 512MB of RAM, but that's plenty for handling the existing app selection on Windows Phone -- we didn't have any issues using Skype or other apps, although we can't vouch for how future-proof this phone will be compared to Windows Phone devices housing 1GB of RAM.

It's a much lighter product, at 1.3 pounds (down from 1.58), and although it uses a heavier-duty Atom processor, battery life is said to top out at about 10 hours. (The original lasted eight in our usual test.) Like the OG version, it allows for pen input on select models, but of course, Windows comes ready-made with a larger selection of apps where a pen might actually be useful.

Oddly, it looks like the app selection is still missing some key titles that already exist on Windows Phone 7, but Samsung's made its own efforts, with preinstalled apps running the gamut from the useful (ChatON) to the less so (Samsung's own Music Hub).
