For months Ms. Weiss tried desperately to get her son out of the study, warning that his condition was spiraling downward and that he was in danger of committing suicide.
The condition meant that, without warning, the father of five could fall over with a temporary paralysis and not be able to get up, sometimes for periods of up to 10 minutes.
As previously reported, the Bextra label also includes a "black box" warning--the most serious kind--for a dangerous skin condition called Stevens-Johnson Syndrome.
