At the summit, the United States will sign accords on enhanced verificationprocedures sought by the Reagan Administration for the Threshold Test Ban Treaty and the Peaceful Nuclear Explosions Treaty of the 1970s as prerequisites to ratification by the U.S. Congress.
In an earnings conference call in February, Sina Chief Executive Charles Chao warned that the company wouldn't be able to convert all of its users by Friday, and said Sina is "working with the applicable regulatory bodies" on implementing the verificationprocedures.
The DoD will consider an enhanced verification regime, including additional and improved sensors and procedures, to supplement or replace the current treaty-required monitoring suite.
