An antenna, which is 40cm across and 15cm high, is firmly embedded in a 4.5 tonne slab of 300 million year-old sandstone from Yorkshire which in turn is fixed almost three metres intotheearth.
But if Svensmark was correct, it would mean that periods of high solar output should coincide with reduced cloud formation (due to reduced cosmic ray incidence), which in turn would have a warming effect on theEarth, since less sunlight would be reflected back into space by clouds.
