The skinny on our Nov. 19-22 2010 poll is that 46% of U.S. adults say they plan tospend less on theholidays this year than they did in 2009, and only 6% say they will spend more.
Retailers are quite possibly going to be in for a severe letdown this holiday season, as a majority of female consumers have indicated that they intend tospend less on theholidays in 2012 than they did in 2011.
And because many in the hospitality business spendtheholidays away from their own families to be at work and share in a collective resentment of the season.
