The manager of one pasty shop in South East Cornwall said her locally-grown potatoes now cost "three times as much as last year" and she was anticipating having to put up her prices.
Spartan Race began in Vermont as a new wrinkle for a core group of already hardcore outdoor endurance athletes, but quickly became popular with everyone from weekend warriors to couch potatoes to elite runners and cyclists, exploding in popularity nationwide, and spawning smaller events of just three miles, Spartan Sprints.
