On the greener side of things, Ceradyne opens a factorythis month in China to produce gear used in the production of polycrystalline silicon for the solar power industry.
The company moved production to the new purpose-built site earlier this year from its previous factory two miles away in Burslem, where it had been based for more than 150 years.
It plans to accomplish that this year while raising money to work with an equipment manufacturer to create the necessary factory equipment to build a pilot production center by 2015.
