Australian start-up Sunengy is partnering with TataPower of India to develop a similar solar system for the reservoir of a hydro power plant in Mumbai.
The cheapest versions won't have air-conditioning or power steering, but Tata hopes its cute looks will make up for missing creature comforts--just as happened with the VW Beetle and the Mini long before it.
These towers, operated by such network operators as Tata and Reliance, would use most of the power, but one-quarter would be reserved for smaller users.
The focus of the deal between Nocera and Tata revolves around the use of catalysts to produce power by splitting water molecules, similar to the process that occurs during part of the photosynthetic cycle.
