Paul Lewis, a spokesman for Boeing, told the BBC that the planemaker was "aware of the diversion of a 787 operated by ANA to Takamatsu in western Japan".
The January 16th malfunction that finally triggered the grounding order involved an ANL flight that was diverted to the Takamatsu airport in western Japan when pilots detected a burning smell and a cockpit message indicated a battery problem.
