PowerBox Concept hybrid, for example, shown at the L.A. show, looks a lot like a standard sports utility vehicle (SUV) but combines a supercharged V-6 engine that runs on compressed natural gas and an electric motor that provides added power for acceleration and passing.
The Jaguar, with two electric motors and a supercharged 1.6-liter gas engine (the show car version actually uses two microturbines) can manage more than 30 miles on the batteries.
Its supercharged and direct fuel-injected 3.0-liter V6 engine generates 310 horsepower and a lively 325 pound-feet of torque that ensures strong launches and plenty of passing power.
