In January The U.S. Department of Energy adopted a new policy for the storage of nuclear waste, embarking on a plan to build two new interim storage sites and a new permanent storage facility.
Independent system operators in Texas, California, and the Midwest have been creating policy, procedures, pricing, and other mechanisms to support storage services.
But as with everything around energy policy, notably including the 'race' to win government support for carbon capture and storage, it's proceeding at snail's pace.
