Arsenic levels higher than the current EPA standard have been discovered in private wells in New England, especially southeastern New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts.
Under Dodd-Frank reform there has been plenty of debate about whether all financial advisors including ones working at big wirehouse firms like Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo and UBS should operate under the fiduciary standard.
If the standard were set at 10 micrograms per liter, Nikolaidis said thousands of local water systems and private wells in the country would have to filter the arsenic out to be in compliance.
