FORBES: Qualcomm CEO Paul Jacobs Delivers Opening Keynote at CES (Live)
With the Snapdragon 800, 600, 400 and 200, Qualcomm again wants to have a solution for every smartphone price point and experience level.
On wireless, Qualcomm announced they would integrate the highest speed LTE, CAT 4 150Mbps with LTE Advanced Carrier Aggregation, onto the Snapdragon 800 die.
We then talked about the Snapdragon 800, which was decoding 4K video at CES but is being showcased here in Barcelona handling 4K playback with Dolby and DTS in Qualcomm's movie theater (sans popcorn, sadly).
The new Snapdragon 800 and 600 chipsets (the old S1-4 nomenclature has been replaced with 200-800) are built on two new versions of the Krait architecture, which Qualcomm introduced last year and has been very well adopted by the smartphone industry ever since.

Qualcomm also used the keynote to announce two new processors, the Snapdragon 600 and 800.
This is no surprise considering the likes of Qualcomm ( Snapdragon 600 and 800), Huawei ( HiSilicon K3V2 Pro and K3V3), NVIDIA ( Tegra 4), AMD ( Temash and Kabini) and possibly Apple will be ordering more 28nm-based chipsets from the foundry throughout the year.
Let's start with the basics: the main specs on our unit include Android 1.6 (which will definitely be obsolete for the final product), five-inch 800 x 480 capacitive touchscreen, Snapdragon QSD8250 chipset (with CPU clocked at 1GHz), Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS and WCDMA radio.
