While oil production has been reduced to a few drops compared to what had been 1.6 million barrels of oil per day, about 2% of global production, a NATO air campaign finally helped tilt the balance to the rebel side.
So I think the conventional wisdom by all sides - people who are sympathetic to the United States or not - is that the West, if it intervenes, it will intervene only to tilt the balance momentarily on the side of one group or the other but not in a decisive way.
Street View is accessed via the search box now, and there's a toggle on the right side that overlays Google Earth data and (impressively) shows it from varying degrees of tilt.
