The power in Iceland to do this is so cheap that it is economical for companies like Alcoa and Alcan to ship the raw materials all the way to Iceland and then ship the final product out it to its customers.
Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said Thursday that the United States would not forcibly board a North Korean ship but, in accordance with a recent U.N. resolution, would request permission to search the ship or press any port the ship docks in to inspect it for illegal materials.
And here's one of the best things about energy efficiency -- it turns out that energy-efficient windows or insulation, those things are products that are almost exclusively manufactured right here in the United States of America. (Applause.) It's very hard to ship windows from China. (Laughter.) So a lot of these materials are made right here in America.
