At this point it seems wise to take deep breaths, and see if Lin can withstand a second half in which every NBA team will be eager to puncture the phenomenon.
But then you watch what has happened in New York the past week and a half with Jeremy Lin and you see how this city still can deliver a national rumpus like none other.
"The government wants to see these companies subjected to harsh market scrutiny, " says Lin Shoukang, head of capital markets for China International Capital Corp.
