LaCie's designs caught Apple's eye in the early 1990s, and the computer giant contracted with LaCie to manufacture external Apple-branded SCSI drives.

We use a Buslogic FlashPoint LT card to evaluate the SCSI drives, and we install the IDE drives as slaves to the DVD-ROM drive's master on the integrated IDE controller's secondary channel.
