The most we ever got was about eight hours, with the default backlight settings which leave the screen off most of the time.
The Panel was nice and bright, even eclipsing our LED-backlit XPS M1330 on maximum settings -- though the screen looked washed out, viewed from off-angles -- and featured smooth action and no perceptible audio sync issues when playing a DVD-quality movie.

As for the video player we had to stick to MP4 format and nothing larger than the screen's resolution -- the standard iPod video settings worked like a charm (we had 900kbps and 30fps encoded by Xvid).

Looking at software, the Nexus 10 runs the newly announced Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, which provides plenty of new features like quick settings, more Google Now features, Photo Sphere, widgets on the lock screen, the ability for devs to add maps into their tablet-optimized apps, a screen saver-style photo viewer called Daydream and a music explorer that quickly finds artists similar to the ones you're listening to.
Quick settings can also be accessed by pulling it down from the top right portion of the screen, whereas the notifications menu is hidden in the top left.
The screen isn't cluttered by options, although a few see-through icons expand into the typically broad settings selections we've seen on Sony's other smartphones.
