In Georgia I taught agriculture at the Junior High and high school levels and served as Advisor to a local FFA Chapter and worked with the local Young Farmers of America Chapter (YFA) as well.
My agricultural education has provided me with an abundance of experiences, from visiting with high school students who have found passion and purpose in agriculture, to traveling to Europe and observing the differences in education and agriculture.
One of the groundnut farmers who benefited from receiving the station's audible agriculture advice is Benjamin Masiya, who relies on his agriculture income to pay for his children's school fees and clothing.
And in the past few years the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has developed new nutritional standards for school lunch that require more vegetables and fruit.
Other involvements include National Agriculture Statistics Service Advisory Committee, Extension Indian Reservation Program Advisory Committee, Indian Land Tenure Foundation Board Member, Chairman of the Agriculture Committee for the National Congress of American Indians and also serves on his local school board.
