Borders and Dumfries and Galloway farms were advised to be vigilant to SBV last week.
SBV, named after the German town where it was first detected, is an emerging livestock disease in Europe.
It has provided funding to allow those importing stock from SBV risk areas to test for the virus.

The National Farmers Union of Scotland (NFUS) said a ram transported from Shropshire had tested positive for Schmallenberg virus (SBV).
The UK's deputy chief veterinary officer, Alick Simmons, said a vaccine against SBV is not yet available but several are being developed.
Livestock producers have been advised to test animals imported from SBV-risk areas.
He said current evidence suggested infection with SBV had a "relatively low impact" but it was known it could cause problems in pregnant animals.
The union said the history of the three affected animals suggested they were infected by SBV while on the holding, in Ceredigion, up to a year ago.
