The BEA has already issued 10 new safety recommendations, including ensuring extra training for pilots on manual handling of a high-altitude stall, and says new safety recommendations will be issued in the final report on the accident, due to be published in June next year.
The barrister claims the employer was guilty of breaches of the Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992.
He told the High Court in Edinburgh that he always wore heavy duty gloves while working as a woodcutter and the safety equipment kept his hands "quite smooth" despite his manual outdoor labour.
