In the final round of submissions candidates were whittled down from 8 to 5 finalists, undergoing an intensive interview, and delivering a 15 minute PowerPoint presentation on their proposed research.
Sara Hiom, of Cancer Research UK, said the charity "and others are working hard to understand and address these potential barriers to early presentationand encourage people to tell their doctor if they have noticed something different about their body".
