This year more than 500 people from 41 countries are taking part in the 40, 000-mile relay race, which started in August 2011 and is set to finish later this month.
Great Britain's men made it through the heats of the 4x100m relay as Simeon Williamson, Tyrone Edgar, Marlon Devonish and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey set the second best time of 38.11.
The units, dubbed "Churchill's Secret Army", were set up to relay vital information about enemy movements and help mount counter-attacks as Britain braced itself for occupation.
