Veloster's packaging of a decent and accessible rear seat and trunk under the rear-canted roof is the stuff of rabbits, hats and Atlantic City magicians.
On Wednesday, the German automaker will formally unveil a new 3 Series Gran Turismo, which has a bigger distance between the front and rear wheels to create more rear-seat legroom and cargo space in the trunk.
Those looking for similar performance in a five-passenger package with added rear headroom, a more formal appearance and a bona fide trunk will have to wait until the 2012 Audi A6 arrives this fall.
The roof slopes down and gently meets the trunk lid, which is decked out with big taillight assemblies that wrap onto the rear fenders and around the corners of the car.
