Beijing Times says authorities must also act quickly to introduce acceptable quality standards for bottled drinkingwater to allay public fears about contamination from deteriorating air and water quality as well as polluting industries.
"Cholera can be treated quickly and people can get better quickly but the challenge is ensuring they don't get re-infected and clean drinkingwater needs to be available, " he said.
