Central banks in the U.S., Europe and Japan have been pumping money into their economies in an effort to stimulate growth, buoying global financial markets.
The effort, called a "top kill, " involved plugging the ruptured deep-sea well by pumping heavy drilling fluid into it from the surface, nearly a mile above.
