The heart of the report (for me) are ten cases studies of successful implementations of big data practices in the publicsector in the U.S. (including the IRS, the National Archives and Records Administration and NASA), Sweden, Denmark, and Canada.
The director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies, Paul Johnson, said the government faced a difficult task because publicsector pay was frozen until 2014, and only then due to rise by 1%.
Studies also find that the ability to secure repayment is closely correlated with other measures of public-sector health, such as the control of corruption and tax compliance.
