Open-source programs across the board - the Apache Web server, the Perl programming language and the GNU development tool set, to name a few - are gaining legitimacy as a business platform.
Apple's revised policy will now allow apps to be written using a Flash-based tool, and also removes restrictions on what other programming languages developers may use.
