Speaking to reporters at the end of a Turkish Cabinet meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said the two sides had agreed on "the methodsandprinciples, the basics and parameters" for working out the compensation, but said the amount to be paid had not yet been determined.
The scheme will also be encouraging sheep farmers to sign up to a set of principles - including ensuring their animals are born and bred within a specified area and reared using traditional methods.
