The world premiere theatre performance of Black Diggers presents the touching, never-before-told stories of 1, 000 Indigenous soldiers who fought in WWI, while The Shadow King is a poignant and thought-provoking Indigenous re-working of King Lear, performed through a mix of live rock music using both English and Kriol (an Indigenous Australian dialect).
Later this year, Gerald Barry's The Importance of Being Ernest will have its UK stage premiere, following on from its concert performance at the Barbican last year.
The work had its East Coast premiere Wednesday night at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall in a performance by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, led by its music director Gustavo Dudamel.
Following its premiere in Jogjakarta last July, Kompi Susu toured major cities around Indonesia on a playbill that included a performance artist and a wayang golek (wooden puppet) troupe.
Organisers of the performance said they are "thrilled" that The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will have its Royal UK premiere in London on 12 December.
