Ms. Stewart, who goes by "Cece, " was hired in 2010 to reinvigorate a business that boasts the highest average deposits perbranch among top lenders but generates lower profits than those peers.
The book has helped Citibank more than double the number of credit cards sold through its branches to an average of 20 perbranchper month, from seven in 2010, Ms. Stewart said.
Speaking at an investor conference Ryan McInerney, chief executive of consumer banking, said the company plans to add 100 branches a year, though staff perbranch will fall by 20% by 2015 through "attrition".
