Pokki, from startup SweetLabs, recently launched to offer consumers mobile-style apps on the PC desktop through a small bar on the bottom of the PC screen (See stories here and here).
Over the next couple of years Apple introduced user-friendly computers with the Lisa-the first pc with a mouse and a menu bar-and the Macintosh, which was pitted as a human alternative to that mechanical juggernaut IBM.
Nevertheless, we did run a few Wii and N64 games quite happily using the Dolphin emulator running with a WiiMote, a third-party IR bar and a Bluetooth adapter for the PC.
