The shallow water and remarkable visibility in the seas surrounding Bermuda make diving here an unforgettably vivid experience: a typical dive allows plenty of time to explore the coral encrusted hulls, barnacled cannons and holds populated with a kaleidoscopic array of parrot fish, barracuda and angel fish.

But I gave in to the resort's do-nothing siren song, spending the mornings snorkeling in the lagoon and the broiling afternoons in my over-water bungalow, watching candy-colored fish through my floor, moving to my deck as shade began to cross it, eventually descending the steps to bid the parrot fish good night.
