HUNTSVILLE, Alabama (CNN) -- The best time in the life of a rocket scientist is the time spent standing by a launch pad or a test stand, watching a brand-new rocket go through performance tests.
There is also a method that's not widespread called the atopy patch test, which involves wearing a pad containing the possible allergen for about 48 hours.
Even the Space Shuttle, about to be retired after 30 years of service, was itself three years late to the launch pad, and that was after Shuttle main engines blew up on their test stands.
