His one-time friend Zachary Osler told investigators of Loughner's increasing isolation and delusional behaviour.
Mr. Osler said he had heard Mr. Loughner had cut his ties with others as well.

Mr. Osler, 22 years old, also said Mr. Loughner told him he was unhappy at home.
"He would say he would dream and then control what he was doing when he was dreaming, " Mr Osler said.
Mr. Osler says Mr. Loughner was absorbed into his group of friends but was never at the center of it.

Their friendship faded, Mr. Osler said, and about two years ago Mr. Loughner sent a text message declaring it over.

About two years ago, Mr. Osler said, Mr. Loughner sent him a text message saying he no longer wanted to be friends.

Onetime Loughner friend Zachary Osler explained how he worked at a sporting goods store where Loughner bought the handgun used in the shooting.
Police believe Mr. Loughner bought the gun used in the shootings at the Sportsman's Warehouse emporium north of Tucson where Mr. Osler works.
Osler was questioned about seeing Loughner shopping inside, sometime before Thanksgiving.
"A lot of the time he was mute, " Mr. Osler said.

" Osler told investigators he had grown uncomfortable with Loughner's personality, "He would say he could dream and then control what he was doing while he was dreaming.
Mr. Osler said he had no idea the weapon was purchased in his store until after the shooting, and that he hadn't been working on the day Mr. Loughner came in to buy it.
"He told off everyone, " Mr. Osler said.
