Today, thousands of people line up for Easter processions and make pilgrimages to old monasteries and churches that either survived Soviet times or have been restored.
The people who make these subtle distinctions can be sent off to the monasteries to debate angels on pins and the rest of us can reach for the prunes or not as our own guts tell us we should.
