The Fed instead extended its Operation Twist program aimed at keeping long-term borrowing costslow by selling short-term Treasurys and putting the money into long-term bonds.
As with any business venture, the costs can be quite low to get a bare bones operation off the ground or extremely high if all the bells and whistles are added immediately.
The company expects to have the Pueblo Viejo and Pascua-Lama mines in full operation next year, contributing about 1.4 million ounces of annual production at lowcosts.
