Seven people associated with the popular site were indicted this month on charges that they knowingly operated an "international organized criminal enterprise" allowing worldwide sharing of illegally pirated movies, music and other media.
Mr Larkin explained to the enterprise committee that Mutual Energy was owned by electricity consumers in Northern Ireland, was operated in their interests, and had no shareholders.
