One pixel on the photographs represents a square with sides 270 yards long.
Red claims the dedicated CMOS sensor means no color debayering, yielding a one-to-one pixel count and 15-20 percent bump in effective resolution compared to its chromatic cousin.

Material for each color is deposited on the substrate through a fine metal mask, with one mask used for each color so that colors line up in a precise, very close pattern that, to the human eye, appears to create one pixel, or point of light.
Not editorially -- Tim and Eric and Alexia and Luddy and Victor have that end on lockdown -- but the kind of design and engineering strategy to take things to the next level, and the resources capable of shipping day in and day out, continuously iterating and improving one pixel and one commit at a time.
Using a specialized sub-pixel signal processing for Sharp's red-green-blue-yellow Quattron pixel panel, the next genesis of Quattron will allow the control and use of these colors individually, enabling the reproduction of double resolution in one singular pixel.
This arrangement makes the chip particularly suitable for image-processing, because each analogue element of the array can be made to correspond to a single pixel (one of the individual dots of which an image is composed).
Even then, the results surpass that of capable shooters, like the One X, when compared pixel for pixel, which speaks volumes about the quality of the sensor and optics.

As to the pixel question, this one is a bit more technical, but it hardly seems insurmountable.
The FPV-1 processor converts an interlaced signal into one that the manufacturer describes as a pixel-to-pixel match with the DLV-100.
The biggest limiting factor until now was transistor size, since each pixel on an LCD screen needs one.
The colors are slightly more saturated here than on the 4.7-inch LCD panel used on the HTC One X, but it loses the battle on viewing angles and pixel density by just a tad.

The screen the Pixel has is -- as you can imagine -- one of its proudest features, sporting a 2, 560 x 1, 700 resolution, giving a PPI of 239, and offers a brightness of 400nit.
As for the rest of the features, the Pixel also has a triple-microphone configuration -- with one under the keyboard -- which helps improve noise cancellation, including the rattle of your typing during excited hangouts.
The end result is a pixel density of 275ppi, which is slightly better than the One S. Thanks to the S-LCD screen, text is very sharp and crisp, viewing angles are admirable and color reproduction is solid.

Pixel certainly suffers from the former, but since it essentially runs one app -- the Chrome browser -- there hasn't been the need for developers to either create a Windows 8-style version of their apps or to try to make their traditional desktop apps more touch-friendly as Microsoft has with Office.
