The discoveries are part of an on-going project started last year when scientists unearthed hundreds of dodo bones at Mare aux Songes in the south-east of the island.
Team members had vastly conflicting schedules, very different ideas on how the project should be structured and the who-should-do-what issue was an on-going problem.
Lord Bradshaw, for the Liberal Democrats, welcoming the statement, called for an assurance that the whole project "is not going to become a meal ticket for consultants and various hangers-on".
