While in grad school, I continued to work on all sides of the fashion industry, always feeling like an outsider doing inside observationalwork, and with a hyper-awareness of the power of aesthetic manipulation and body consciousness.
It goes on to pay tribute to news reels and propaganda films and expressionist shorts and most particularly the work of John Grierson who did this observational documentary film making.
