Over the past ten years, a number of studies have shown that video game players often outperform non-gamers on measures of perception and cognition, and that video game practice can enhance those abilities.
Another cause of the condition is the perception of a non-dangerous event -- such as turbulence or normal sounds that planes make -- as being an actual threat to one's safety.
The project seems to have raised attention for the two technology giants among Facebook users, whose perception of Toshiba and Intel jumped above non-Facebook users following the series launch.
Intel had the most pickup, although Buzz score for the brand dropped below that of non-Facebook users shortly after, whereas Toshiba managed to retain high perception with Facebook users throughout the campaign to date.
